A macaron is a sweet meringue-based confection made with eggs, icing sugar, granulated sugar, almond powder or ground almond, and food colouring. It is also calledLuxemburgerli. The macaron is commonly filled with ganache, buttercream orjam filling sandwiched between two biscuits.
